Breath-taking Panorama
The view onto ten lakes and 100 kilometers of alpine vistas will make the heart of any mountaineer armchair or real, beat higher.
From Mount Stanserhorn, the unique vantage point in Central Switzerland, you can see easily the following mountains: In Eastern Switzerland the Säntis and the Glärnisch, in Central Switzerland the Urirotstock, the Krönten, the Spannörter, in the Bernese Oberland, the Finsteraarhorn, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and last but not least the Brienzer Rothorn.
On a clear day, you can see all the way to France, and spy the Vosges Mountains there, as well as Germany, where you will see the Feldberg and the extensive Black Forest.
From the summit, at 1900 m.a.s.l. you will not only see the fabulous mountains that ring this special place but also see then ten glinting blue lakes in the valleys. They are:
Lake Luzern, Lake Sarnen, Lake Sempach, Lake Baldegg, Lake Hallwil, Lake Zug, Lake Wichel, Lake Bannalp (man-made), Lake Gerzen and Lake Alpnach.
