Every step counts
Once around the globe – that equals around 40,000 kilometres that we would like to collect together. What may sound like an almost unimaginable distance at first becomes surprisingly achievable when we join forces: Spread across the season, this means around 220 kilometres per day. Just 20 hiking enthusiasts walking from Stans up to Mount Stanserhorn each day, or around 180 guests completing the summit trail, already bring us a good step closer to our goal day by day.

Mount Stanserhorn has long been known as a popular hiking mountain in Central Switzerland. Whether it is a leisurely stroll along the summit trail, a hike from the valley station to the peak or a sporty mountain run – our guests explore the mountain in many different ways. It is exactly this variety that we would like to highlight and count together.
At the same time, we would like to promote movement, health and shared experiences in nature. In a world that has become increasingly digital and fast-paced, hiking offers a simple way to slow down – being outdoors, taking a deep breath, enjoying the views and moving forward step by step.
This challenge is not about performance or speed. Quite the opposite: every movement counts. Whether it is a short walk on the summit, a family outing or a longer hike – everyone can take part and contribute.
Participating is easy
Record your hike conveniently using this online form or fill out the form available on site. You can pick up forms at the ticket counter, in the shop on Mount Stanserhorn or at the large globe displays near the valley station, Kälti and on the summit. All kilometres will be collected throughout the entire season and continuously visualised, allowing you to see at any time how far we have already hiked together.
