What a hiker’s heart desires

The Stanserhorn is the ideal hiking mountain for all levels. Whether it’s a 30-minute circular summit trail to a 4-hour hike from Stans to the top of the Stanserhorn, there’s something for everyone to choose from. Beautiful views of the Stans valley floor, Lake Lucerne, Engelberg valley and Obwalden can be enjoyed on the way up. A 100 kilometer Alpine chain, 10 Swiss lakes and 200 different alpine flowers are on display at the summit.

Want to take a shortcut? If desired, the individual sections Stans-Kälti / Kälti-Bluematt / Bluematt-Stanserhorn can be mastered by train. For information: For a stop at the Bluematt (stop on request), simply pick up the receiver and request a stop.

Early in summer or late in autumn, there is still snow on the mountain or in shady areas. Find out about the closed hiking trails. Proper preparation and equipment are the prerequisite for an enjoyable hike.

Experience a unique school trip around the Stanserhorn with your school class. Below we would like to show you two hikes that are suitable for groups with pupils. For all hiking trails on the Stanserhorn, good footwear (trekking or hiking shoes) is required. It is best to buy your ticket for the Stanserhorn directly via group-ticket from the SBB.

The support of the CabriO cable car at Alp Bluematt is a stop on demand. Contact our machinists by telephone at the support, whereupon the next CabriO cabin will stop at Alp Bluematt and you can board in comfort.

Safety on the mountain

Mountain hiking trails are mostly steep, narrow and sometimes exposed. Sure-footedness, a head for heights, a good physical condition and mountain experience are required. Sturdy shoes with a non-slip sole are required.
